This is the second year in a row that the Escrow balance on my mortgage has gone up, while my property taxes and home owners insurance has stayed the same. Instead of receiving a refund, however, we have been billed an additional $200 or are being extorted to pay an additional $80 per month.

I don't know how they can justify their 'estimates' from the Department of Labor, but the quoted policies are not available on the web. They are saying that based upon this policy, that they project an increase in our taxes. I contacted our city and the taxation department doesn't even know what the new tax rate is going to be. It's a great business if you are the mortgager.

We also have a pre-payment penalty. Who ever heard of this garbage?

Citimortgage failed to pay my local property taxes from escrow, kept me dangling for weeks while fees and penalties mounted, and are basically an annoying pain in the butt. Most recently, after falling one day after the initial due date of my mortgage payment, a vulture from Citi called and offered to take payment over the phone (still within grace period mind you) for $20. I stated that I could just as easily do it online for $10, and he said, "ok, I'll give you a discount, $10". WHO ARE THESE BOUNTY HUNTING SUBCONTRACTORS?? I feel I'm being stalked by a THUG!
