Citifinancial keeps changing payment address

I have a loan with Citifinancial which I have payed directly from my bank. My bank sense the check a full 10 days before it's due every month. However, I keep getting called from Citifinancial saying the payment is late. The problem seems to be the address where I send the payment. Every time I call they tell me I have the wrong address and give me a different one. Originally the address was in North Carolina, then it changed to South Carolina, now they say it's Nevada. The worst part is they always call and try to make me send extra payments. I've paid over twice the monthly minimum like clockwork every month. However, they still treat me like I'm a deadbeat who doesn't pay their bills. Once this loan is paid off, I will never do business with Citifinancial again.

CitiMortgage Refinance Scam

Be weary asking CitiMortgage for refinancing on your mortgage. They'll charge about $460.00 nonrefundable to "lock you in" a sweet rate.

Once you've paid the fee and the appraisers check out your home you get denied. Reasons CitiMortgage deny you mostly is on account of any foreclosures in your area decreased your home value.... information they already are aware of before you even call for a refinance. If you've lost money doing this, I suggest paying extra on your principal.

This saves you interest and decreases their profits.

We had no choice on account CitiMortgage bought the loan from Flagstar, which I also do not recommend getting a mortgage from. Stick with the local credit union if at all possible.

I spent 6 months providing Citi copies of tax returns, check stubs, property deeds, and even my divorce papers! It seemed like they kept delaying helping me.

Finally one woman had the honesty to say Citi will not help you with your loan unless you are delinquent but then your credit score will suffer! I am trying to refinance with a credit union now.

Heartless company with terrible customer service IF THEY SPEAK ENGLISH. All points to corporate greed.

Thanks God I dodge a bullet from CITImortgage They tried to get me to pay for a refinance and then I located all of these negative comments.

I am sure they would have taking my money asap for an app just to turn it down as they have others here and kept the money. It appears to me that they are scamming the public by accepting money for application and then finding ways to deny the loan.

Wonder how much money they have banked with this scamming process.

We contacted Citimortgage in June 2012 about a refi because they have held the current loan for several years. They immediately said they would refi our loan and drop the rate.

We would save about $200 a month. We have owned our home for 37 years. Over 50% equity. Credit score over 800.

We paid up front for the appraisal, etc. They demanded a lot of dox, tax returns, bank statements, 1099s, PLUS many that had absolutely nothing to do with our home, income or ability to pay the loan. We immediately provided everything requested. Appraisal confirmed 50% equity.

No response for weeks. Then they said they were backed up b/c so many people wanted to refi. A few weeks later they demanded more additional dox, and that we install a CO2 detector. We immediately did as directed.

More delays. Then they had to send appraiser to take a picture that we actually had inserted the $30 CO2 detector into a wall plug! More delays. Then they said that so much time had passed we have to give them all new dox!

By then it was apparent they were just scamming us to keep us from refinancing with another bank. It was just a scam.

Contacted Fremont Bank and are getting refi at lower rate than Citimortgage was offering. Lost several hundred dollars on the deal but will get it all back in a few months with Fremont Bank.

We just went through the same nightmare with Citimortgage !!! Contacted Citimortgage in November 2012 for refinance since our loan is currently with Citimortgage for over 12 years and responded to an invitation of lowering our mortgage rate from 5.5% to 3% lock in fee of $615 which include a quick appraisal.

We were given a Sales Consultant by the name of Nicholas Klein and quickly we received Welcome Packet Nov 28, 2012. After continuous follow up since there where no words - a month later a Welcome Packet from Ms. Viviana introducing herself as Loan Processor Coordinator - we went through same ordeal of documentations needed which were all sent couple of times, by mid January we new we were facing a SCAM from a reputable bank !! We got 6 different Good Faith Estimates for many reasons - they have it all.

On Feb 24 the night before the lock in rate of 3% is to expire, Mr. Nicholas Klein guarantee my husband and I over the phone that they received all documentations and he is just waiting for closing date from underwriter and no problem with the lock in rate as it's Citimortgage fault for the big delay due to over whelming respond of people refinancing.

At this point, we are just glad, this reputable bank did not scam us any further.

What is the best resolution in 'STOPPING THE BANK SCAM" How can we all file law suit against this bank to help future "homeowners from being scam" and stop the heart attacks of people like me from aggravation ???

In October of 2011 I started a loan application with Citi for a measly $57K refinance of an investment rental property.

I have less than a dozen investment properties, I’m not in trouble on them, and I thought taking advantage of lowered rates should be easy.

Instead it’s been a year of baffling, stupefying and stultifying paperwork, incompetence, lack of communication and assorted ills.

Last week I received word that the loan request was being cancelled by Citi, because ostensibly I had not provided the requested information. This is right after I was assured that everything was in and the loan was being processed. The last email I received from the underwriter was “Let me look through it again before you send anything. I did not ask the processor to send this out and make any request until I have looked through it. Thanks”

I’ve just had a somewhat surreal conversation with Ms _____. She kept saying the loan was cancelled because I didn’t provide this or that. I kept saying yes I did. It was like talking to a wall.

If you want to stay in business doing loans, I strongly suggest someone look into what happened. I’m attaching the string of e-mails that I’ve kept (may not be 100%, but close enough), and your files can provide more context.

Basically, my feeling is that there’s a strong streak of incompetence running through the operation.

Whenever I was asked for documents I responded promptly. I either faxed or emailed the requested docs. I mostly used email, because my experience showed that faxes disappeared. By now I’ve sent every document multiple times.

There was never an acknowledgment of document receipt by Citi, but then I’d get a threatening letter that the loan would be cancelled because the docs weren’t received. So I’d send them again.

Sometimes the request was vague and I’d ask for clarification. Mostly I’d get no answer, until the threatening letter again. And these letters always came late. Occasionally I’d get an actual email from a processor.

But mostly there was silence. Long periods of no activity, no communication, until a rushed realization that there was a need to clarify some obscure and insignificant piece of data. On top of that, I got the feeling that your staff didn’t understand your own internal rules and requirements regarding refi’s, or Fannie’s rules. It also seemed that my file was being handled only a few minutes at a time. Find a problem, stop. Nobody seemed to be looking at the bigger picture, that this was a small loan to a no-risk borrower and that the focus on minutiae was no serving any purpose.

Oh, the loan was cancelled once before, earlier this year, so we were on the second iteration. That had to do with properties I have in France, and the difficulty of getting documents from French banks, which seem to be even less customer-focused that Citi. Once Citi finally clarified what it really needed (see the email chain) and the French responded, the loan application was restarted. I thought that, because you now had all the paperwork, this time it would go quickly, and I was even assured that special emphasis would be placed on getting it expedited. Ha !

I’m not a novice at this. This is not my first loan or refi. While this was going on, I managed to get two other refis done with Wells Fargo. That didn’t go without hiccups, but it got done in short order. I’ve again contacted Wells Fargo about doing more, and they actually apologized that their refi process is stretching out to 90 days ! I could cry.

Something is wrong at CitiMortgage. If you want to find out what, this loan application is a good place to start investigating. I’m at your disposal.

2 hours, 13 people and 11 numbers later, I finally hung up. I've never experienced anything like it!

and was pre-approved to refinance at a lower rate. Like others, the "underwriters" keep asking for more and more documentation. I have paid for the application fee, appraisal and title and feel that no matter what I send to them they come up with another list of documents. I have diligently paid notes to this company for 4 years at a higher rate and for a larger amount but yet now, even though I am making more money and borrowing less I am not qualified.

Are these guys not in the business of making money, I don't get it.

After reading these comments I am afraid to stay with this company and about to bail even though I will loose the money I have already put into it. I hate this company and will tell everyone I know not to deal with them ever.

My sister and brother-in-law have a loan with Citimortgage. They have been trying to work with Citimortgage to save their home.

Of course, Citimortgage will not work with them. My sister is now on disability due to being in 3 car accidents in two months. None of them was her fault. He contacted the so call "White House" to let them know that the so called Obama plan to help save your home, is not working.

He had to call about 12 different numbers to get to someone that knew loss mitigations. Then she told him to call back in 30 days and then she might be able to help. Of course, when you contact the white house to let them know what the people who are hired to help homeowners are useless and not doing there job. White House response is to contact the government program.

Obama's people who is working for him does not even do there job. We told them in the email what happen and Obama does NOTHING. How hard is it for Obama to call the programs he is suppose to have in place for people saving their homes. It's not that hard.

Here we have unemployed people that could do a much better job helping people save their home in the program he has set up. We are paying people to sit on there butt and answer the phone, just to tell the homeowner to call back in 30 days. By that time my sister will lose her home. Obama is not for the people, he is for himself.

He is not listening to the people. I wish Obama would sit down with me and and I could give him a ear full of issues that are not being addressed. I two am unemployed, and I am a nurse. I worked for a place that was trying to cover up something and I did not go along with it.

So, I was fired. Now I cannot get a job as a nurse due to my name being out there.

I have always been an patient advocate and will continue too. Times are hard.

Very unprofessional, Complete Fraud,

CitiMortgage is a Fraud, and as unprofessional as they come. I personally worked in this in industry for years. I have never seen any thing like this, so unprofessional and just complete mess. I have been though this two times with Citimortgage and the first one was so wrong on there part, they dropped the case after fees and making a gain of 10k. Now they are trying to do it again,I have been told and told different amounts and amounts,paperwork that did not show, and my account shows it was recieved. Every person has a different story, they have been taking my payment and still trying to take me to court. HOW does that work, take payments and take the house to. FRAUD and every person is saying something different, the owner of this company has even RAN from the mess. and can not be found. What is a complete mess, even the owner of the company had ran from it!!! That says it all!!!! We need to stand together, and get this company to stop this misconduct.

Complete run around

Both my husband and I lost our jobss in 2009. I contacted citi mortgage and was told a modifcation was possible. I began the process of providing the required documents. Calling freqently to check the statis I was told the process could take up to 8 months. Half the time they said they did not receive the paper work, or it was in underwriting, or the file was closed for lack of docs. During all this I was provided at least 7 different fax numbers, three different loan officers and on and on. Now they have started foreclosure. Why is it ok for this kind of business practice to occur!

Escrowed property taxes raised payment now paying extra late fees

I refinanced awhile ago and it ended up being sold to citi(***)bank. The payments were affordable because I didn't escrow my property taxes.

I do not have a huge income and I get money back at the end of the year in taxes, which is what I would pay my property taxes with. I would pay it in a lump sum, with late charges, and the city I live in said it wasn't a big deal. I had been doing this for about 3-4 years. Well citi wanted proof that the taxes were being paid, (which I had reciepts for) but I am stubborn and figured it would only take them a phone call to figure this out.

Well they took it upon themselves to "help me" and escrowed my taxes even though I was paying them annually. This raised my mortgage by 25% during an unemployment spell and they have been reaming me for online payment fees, late fees, and any other %$#^@*@! fees they can think of. What is the sense in this?

If a person is just getting by, why *** with them and make them almost lose their house? Don't they have enough of them already? We bailed their *** out, and they *** steal more!!! Not to mention the 4-5 calls a day, 7 days a week, if they don't get their payment within the first 5 days of each month!!

I can hardly wait to sell this house, buy a trailer and some land, and have little or no payments. No more being married to *** citimortgage!!!!I hope they read this, *** ALL OF YOU!!!

I have the same problem as you mention. It seems like they want our homes and to *** us in the same.

Can't even get out from them because it shows late payments now. You would think that someone would be able to step in and help them get there *** out of the ground or not let them take away from home owners..

now they are holding my payments charging me late fees in addition to all of the other ***. : :upset :(

They nag you to death! The manager is the worst in customer service.

I have never been treated so horribly. Every month they call as if you are not going to pay. Every month I tell them I will pay at the end of the month to please change my due date. They threaten with foreclosure as if you are in default. I am in Real Estate and very familiar with forecloser. By using threatening words does not make for a good recipe for customer service.I have never seen such bad management.It's amazing that no one has complained about the manager.Citifinancial must have the worst reputation and they really need more experienced people to handle the professional they deal with on a daily basis.

TELL ME ABOUT IT!!! They call like clockwork.

Every time they call I tell them the same thing: the reason I am behind is because when then wrote my forebearance they changed my due date and when they ended it ...they wanted a full payment the next day and changed my due date back to the original date!!! I have not missed a payment in over 2 years ...but they still call and NAG!

CitiFinancial is ripping me off.

Refinancing my mortgage through CitiFinancial was the biggest financial mistake of my life. Since refinancing with CitiFinancial my principal has increased not decreased. Payments have not been posted correctly. According to their records I am 4 months in arrears despite making monthly payments. I have requested an printout of my payments for the past year and was denied. I have my payment records and can validate them all but the Customer Service Rep with which I am working with by phone says they do not agree with CitiFinancial's records. I have received letters from Attorneys and when I contact CitiFinancial they apologize for the mistake and tell me to disregard. Two months later CitiFinancial's records, according the the CSR agrees with the Attorney's records I was told to disregard. They never supply anything in writing with which to make an informed decision or document what I am being told. I don't want to loose my home, especially since I have been making my mortgage payments, but I may have no choice. I am tired of the hassle and the emotional roller coaster. Buyer beware or Borrower beware when you sign a contract with CitiFinancial.

i have had the same thing happen to me. I had to refinance through the this predatory company in the middle of a divorce and really got screwed.

in the meantime, my principal has been steadily increasing, althought i make my payments every month...on different days, as i can. Their explanation was that because i made one payment on the 10th and don't pay till the 15th the next month, they are accruing an additional 5 days interest that's not paid. It's insanity!

i have never gone over 30 days, but they show me 3500 past due. I am looking to join in the class-action laweuit against citi as soon as possible.

Citifinancial Mortgage

Citifinancial Mortgage, owned by Citi Group, are crooks! They are trying their hardest to get my house from me! I was told that I got a deferment for my Oct. 2010 payment, and then I made the Nov. payment. Now today I got a call saying, I owe the Nov. payment, that what I paid at the beginning of Nov, went to the Oct. payment! Plus they are refusing to work with me. I've been out of work since Feb. and while looking have not yet found a job. My mortgage payment takes all most all of my unemployment, leaving me 45 cents to buy food, and pay my other bills. I saw on here that there are a lot of people pissed at Citifinancial. I think we should ban together and file some kind of suit against them. I have a disabled daughter, and an elderly Mother...if I loose my home, we will litterally be living out of my car.

The City Mortgage Loan Modification process is horrible and has waisted my time

I am going throught the mortgage loan motification process and have sent all of my requsted docs when requested. They keep loosing them and are not willing to take responsability for their lack of process. Now they are telling me that i need to resubmitt a most recient Profit and Loss statement to review. This would be the fourth time that I have sent all docs to them and the new Profit and loss statement will cast me another $150.00. I am strapped and trying to work with them to stay in my home. They admit that they have lost my docs and due to the delay want updated info. I can understand wanting updated info but if they would have done thier job in the first place, The process would have been complete and not taken 6 months and cost me more money that I don't have. Now I am back to square one and they just don't care that they are not doing their job in a timely manor, or at all. Everyone I talk to, passes the buck. If I did my job that way, I would be fired. What has this world come to.. I just want to warn people that what should have taken 45 days is probably going to end up takeing a year.. I hope I can hang in there that long... Your just a number and not a person..

Citi lies to its customers

If you are facing foreclosure with Citi, I recommend that you check your credit history, I just checked mine and found out that Citi wrote off my loan 6 months prior to my foreclosure as they strung me along all this time. I have however filed a lawsuit against Citi and Cal Western Reconveyence and I hope that everyone else does the same as they are stealing your home from you. Citimortgage has no intention in helping you and your family as they a make a *** of alot more on foreclosures than they do modifying you, The Fed is paying them to take your property.

Lied to us and our attorney

In jan 10 we was in a listing agreement with citi we could not make our payments so we called to explain this was told they would work with us.. It was April 10 till we could make payments again and tried to send extra... they would not except our payments and told us we were inforeclosure all though no papers had been recieved... so we applied for a modification.. and I had to keep sending the same papers over and over cause the said they had never gotten them and I had faxed them.. Two weeeks ago we learned we were turned doen for a modifiacation but they would be willing to try a repayment plan.. They offered us a plan but it was setting us up for failure. so I called an attorney. He had me see him Thurs Sept 30 and we spoke to citi on a speaker phone. He asked the 4 times since we were trying to do this repayment plan if our foreclosure was on hold and was assured by citi that it was Tge very next morning at 9AM I was presented woth foreclosure papers they are nothing but liars that you cant trust. Our orginal loan was not with citi we was sold to them and my life has been in an up heaval since that time.. they try to make you fail and you cant trust them.. there is two many people in too many offices all over that dont know what the other are doing.. they should close them up for good

I filed a complaint with the office of the comptroller.. My lawer says its very hard to fight them alone and although I cant afford an attorney.

I dont think I cando this alone.

They need tobe shut down they need a class action law suit brought against them from all the people they have done wrong to. that is the only reason they are stillopen, because they are cheating people and adding up fees that are WAY out of line

Citi Did the same thing to us We are facing forclosure also due to them lying to us about our makeing the mayment arragements for our balloon payment. I wa told by a lawyer to make them proof they have the note to you house if they bought the loan from another back. We are fighting them.

Citimortgage foreclosure / payments in "unapplied fund" and current!

I am going through the same things as mentioned above. My mortgage was okay until May, 2010.

Up until May, my payment was $912 a month. I was late sending in the May payment. They rec'd $950 on June 6. On June 1st, my payment increased from $912 to $982.

So, they didn't apply my $950 payment to May, as they said it was not the entire payment. Instead my payment went into a "unapplied fund" account. I sent $1,000 in July and another $1,000 in August. Actually thinking that I was paying more than was due!

HOWEVER, my payments for three months of $2,950 are all sitting in this "unapplied fund" account. AND, this week I rec'd a letter from their attorney that my house is in foreclosure! I have called Citimortgage numerous times. Yes, they agree that this should never have happened....

however, they can't do anything and I cannot get through to the Foreclosure Department. HELP!!!

Dragging my credit down after bankruptcy

After a chapter13 bankruptcy which involved stripping a second mortgage held by CFMC, they started performing hard inquires on my credit every three months dropping my credit score 7 points each time. Kick me when I'm down!! I contacted all 3 credit reporting agencies and placed a security freeze to stop anyone from doing hard inquiries on my credit report without my consent. The agencies will contact me before releasing any information. I then contacted the federal trade commission(877-382-****) and made formal a complaint. The FTC recommended to call the Better Business Bureau and they could help me. I did so today and should take about 30 days. Also sent letters to both state senators in Washington DC to inform them of Citi's behavior. Will wait and see. Good Luck To All

Glad you posted this. I haven't even went through bankruptcy of any kind, but since my mortgage company goes through CFMC I have also been getting these inquiries ever so often.

Now that you mentioned it, it probably has been about every three months. I'm sure it's been going on for a while, I never noticed it until I became a member of credit karma who keeps sending me notifications of these hard inquiries. It was not until today that I realized it was affecting my credit score tremendously. Now I'm on a mission to fix this problem.

Thanks for the great advise to help get me started.

If you found any other solutions since this post. They would be greatly apprectiated.

After contacting these agencies to include sending letters to my senators and congressman in Washington my credit was repaired and jumped 19 points in 2 weeks!!! 8

We have severance for 1 yr but citi wd not rengotiate our mtg payment. never defaulted on our loan..

My husband has been out of work but was receiving his paycheck for 1 yr. severance pay. We had (have) money in the bank but citi would still not give us a lower rate on our mtg. when rates lowered this year. When he does get a job, I will remember all of those banks (cos) who would not help us. We have an excellent credit history (no bills except mortgage) & have never in 30 years once defaulted on our mortgage payments. I do not understand how you can say you are there for the people. You are full of greed & do not care to help people avoid foreclosure. We now have our home up for sale & are hoping we get into an apartment until my husband gets a job or starts making money in his consulting business.

Citi mortgage dirty tactics to get our house

The important thing to remember here is we had not missed a payment. We were going through some tough times due to the economy and being furloughed. We contacted them to see what this modification was all about and if we qualified. Trying to be proactive. They told us they would lower our payment for three months and if we made it without any problems they would modify our loan to that amount. We made the payments at the lower rate as they told us to do. We had not missed a payment. We started to get letters demanding all the back pay or they would foreclose, When we called them they said it was just routine and to ignore it as we would get a modification. Well, they denied our modification saying we didn't get the paper work to them. LIES! They said to continue with the reduced payment and they would put us in another mod program. We still had not missed a payment when we got a foreclosure letter. shortly after that we received paperwork saying we needed to send paperwork which we already sent and the due date was three days before we received the notice. They now won't except our payment and are foreclosing even though we never missed a payment until they stopped excepting it. We did call after that and one rep told us to make a payment or we wouldn't get the mod. We hung up and called right back to have another rep tell us they would not except a payment and the other person was wrong. Bottom line is they want our house because we are not under water on it. And now we can't sell it because its in foreclosure. All this and we never missed a payment!

I have had the same thing happen to me I was going through some financial difficulties from being laid off while pregnant and so I contacted Citi and they put me on a reduced payment plan which I did without any problems then when it came time to do the actual modification they would lose my paperwork not tell me they were missing things close my file and never tell me. They actually started foreclose then I got that fixed and went on another payment plan and tried to get them to complete a modification and went through the same thing I have sent them the paperwork over 10 times and I just found out today that they have started foreclosure on me yet again. I need help in getting this resolved as the amount of money I am now behind thanks to their reducation payment plans is an amount I cannot come up with over 25K. Please advise if there is any one out there that has gone through this and come out the other side.

I can not believe that we all have been issued the same exact answers. I have been in a modification for 2 years, made every payment on time..made over the phone to insure that it was not sitting on some ones desk, sent & resent the same paperwork over & over to be told the same thing, ringing any bells???

I am sure it does.

It is time to put them to the grindstone. Lawsuit..lets go!

I refinanced by home with citi and was talked into a 15 yr mortgage. At the time I was working full time but planned on retiring.

I was concerned about the amount of payment. They informed me that when I retired I could get a modification. Did not happen. Now I am having trouble paying by payments and they are suppose to look into a modification.

I have sent the information 4 times and they tell me they have never received it. I sent it twice from one their officies to the office handling my account.

They are the worst people I have ever had to deal with and would not recommend them to anyone. You can talk to 3 different people and get three different answers.

First let me say I know how frustrating all this is because I've been documenting the $hiti shuffle for two years. As far as filing a law suit goes you are relying on the same &ed-up system to find a solution, don't do that.

Instead you must educate yourselves as I have done regarding your particular states laws then go after them yourselves.

Ultimately you will discover that $hiti F. has no standing to foreclose on you home because they are not a "party of legal interest" because they are not a bank. Since they are only servicing the "loan" for their parent Co. $hiti Group, they have no financial interest they have no legal right in moving to foreclose.

Do your homework as if your life depends upon it. Then file a brief in court "Pro Se" (by yourself stating that $hiti has no legal claim since they are only servicing the paper and since they have no legal right as Plaintiff the case must be dismissed Period.

:sigh I am going through the same thing and have been for 2 years I applied for a modification in 08 and was sent a letter that I did not turn in paper work. The last paperwork was due on 10-28-10 and I got the letter dated 10-7-10, Imagine that.

Citi Financial STINKS! They told me on the phones that they are trained in the call center to do whatever it takes - say whatever it takes to tell the client a story.

I have over 225 phone calls over a 12 month period logged - who - where - when - and the stories I got are INCREDIBLE! I would like to file a CIVIL LAWSUIT against CitiMortgage - they are HORRIBLE!
